Is it worth doing a bookkeeping course?

Hi All

Advice needed please. To try and keep it short I've got 10 years experience in the Account Management side of advertising and marketing and plenty of budgeting experience. However, the chances of doing that with 2 pre-school children seem to be pretty non-existent.

So... I was thinking of retraining in order to add bookkeeping to my skills. Should I be looking at an AAT course or would it be just as good to do a bookkeeping and accounts level 1 certificate (don't know who the awarding body is for this)? I don't want to go on to be an accountant.

Any advice gratefully received.

Lu
