Interim Management - any experience?

Somebody recently suggested to me that I should think about Interim Management. I know that there's a professional body (Institute of Interim Management) who I'm going to contact but I wondered if anyone on MN has any experience of this?

On the surface it sounds ideal as it may be possible to pick assignments to fit around school holidays but I am wondering how child friendly it is as a career?

I'm an accountant by the way and have no problem working through a limited company (which I've done before).

Any advice welcome!

Er, not child friendly at all, that's why I've stuck with a permanent job despite lots of offers.

Can you go to Newcastle for two weeks tomorrow? Then a meeting in London? Oh and Birmingham on Thursday. There's a reason it pays so well. Sorry.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know. I thought it sounded too good to be true.

You also spend a lot of time looking for your next contract!
