application form in pdf - handwritten?

Hi,
I've left my job and am applying for new one.

People seem to send out their application forms in a pdf format. I don't have any software that could fill that out on the computer and can't afford to buy anything to fill it out.

Should I ask for another format e.g form in Word, or are they more likely to be wanting me to write on the form and post it back?

I think they'll be expecting you to print the form off and write it out by hand - very few people will have software that would let them add anything onto a pdf file.

NB you can do it in Photoshop if you have it
