Passed over?

Hi All,

Has anyone else found that they are left out at work once they return from having a baby? I have been back at work since December and feel lost! My maternity cover is still doing my old job and I have been swept to one side. Any ideas what I can do?

Same thing happened to me My maternity cover liked my job so much that she kept it, while I was relegated to a different floor and a much less interesting job. Sadly because I'd taken AML there was nothing I could do.

I am starting a brand new job next week elsewhere.

Can you be a bit more specific lewis? How do you mean 'passed over', and 'lost'. Since December is a long time to still be feeling lost, what exactly is happening?

If you took more than 6 months maternity leave you don't have the automatic right to go back to the exact same job, as I'm sure you know, but you should go back to something suitable. Is the job you are doing suitable?
