Maternity Pay - employed AND freelance

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help, I have a permanent part time job but I am also a freelance consultant. I am entitled to SMP from my employer, but will this be affected by my freelance work, i.e. if I am working freelance for clients during my maternity leave from my permanent job will I still receive SMP?

Thanks in advance!

If you are registered as self employed, paying your own tax etc, you can work on this basis while receiving SMP from an employer.
