Apply online or by post?

I'm about to apply for a job that I really want and I wondered whether there was any appreciable difference to applying online or by post. I was going to apply online because it was easier, but then I thought it might be better to apply by post because then i would ahve the chance to enclose a covering letter where I could big up my skills a bit more. And would I look more serious if I made the effort to do it by post because it's so easy (lazy?) to apply online?

Any thoughts? Does it make a difference either way? Or am I overthinking this?!

IMHO online is more reliable than the Royal Mail.

You're overthinking it! Online applications usually give you a chance to attach documenets anyway so you could enclose a covering letter that way.

Oh titchy! Great idea! I will see if I can do that.
