Has anyone done property development?

I really really want to start doing property development but just cant afford it at the moment. How much would i have to save realistically to be able to start it? Did anyone who has done property development get away with just saving a bit or do you really need a lot of money?

you can save alot of money by doing everything yourself! I think it is hard nowadays to make moneyo out of it because of the market. if you want to make any serious money it might be worth looking around at towns where redevelopment is planned
