IT's up to your company whether they pay you for them or not. My company told me I wouldn't be paid so I told them I wouldn't be doing them.

Hhhm, the legislation isn't specific, but most lawyers asked this question by a company will say to pay at the normal rate of pay. That's what most large employers do.

Does having team meetings to plan a return to work count? Or do you have to do some 'real' work, rather than just planning? (sorry to hijack)

I went to quite a few meetings about my return to work, about salary issues (when a paycut was introduced) etc, and I never got offered any pay for my time.
