What is Public Sector?

I want to apply for this job, it says public sector exp. needed? I am not sure what type of jobs do come under PS? I work for a bib university, does that class as PS?

i would assume it meant local or central government, including quangos. i don't think strictly speaking universities count but you may have relevent experience. apply.

I work for the public sector - I'm a lecturer in a university - so yes that does count.

Basically if it is funded by the taxpayer - wholy or partly than it is the public sector
