Hello. Does anyone know if I'm still entitled to maternity pay if I'm made redundant before ML starts? I work for the council, in education. I do plan on contacting HR today, but if anyone knows off the top of their head...

From others on here (and being in the same position) I believe that by law if you are there 15 weeks or less before your due date. Apparently before that it can be at the discretion of your company, but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one!

Harimad - do you work for a private company or a public one?

You will be entitled to SMP if you are there 15 weeks or less before your due date, but any enhanced maternity pay will depend on what the company policy is.

I work for a private company. You'll probably be much better off working for public!
