Would be v grateful if anyone can give me some advice.

I work for the NHS so good benefits and security.

I have got a new job at 18hrs per week with one trust and will be keeping my old job but reducing my hours on a contract of 10 hrs per week. (wasnt going to do this but necessary as dp job not so secure at the moment)

My questions are can you only have one tax code? And if so will I be taxed at BR on my 10 hrs per week job?

Will I pay 2 lots of NI?

Can I pay 2 lots of NHS pension?

Not that Im thinking of getting pregnant yet but if I was to get pregnant in the future can I get materity pay pro rata from both employers.

I will be on a contract for 18hrs per week at one trust and 10 hrs per week at annother trust.

Im confused!

I used to work 22.5 hrs at one trust and 7.5 at another.

My payslip for one job was BR Noncum, but according to the payroll it all works out the same. They said I could split my tax if I wanted to but it would make no difference. I did ringthe tax office a couple of weeks ago to check I hadn't been overpaying and I haven't.

You pay NI on both wages but again it doesn't work out anymore than if all your hours were at one trust.

Yes you can pay 2x pensions as again its all pro-rata. I should think that maternity pay would be be payable by both trusts.

Thanks for the speedy response!

Just wondered if I was going to end up worse off with paying BR tax and two lots of NI but as you say its all pro-rata so should work out ok.

Its great mumsnet hey? Always someone who can help
