Its very common when handling money/card details for an employer to carry out a credit check.

The credit check they do will show the defaults and debt agencies but if you have satisfied them they will also see this.

It totally depends on their in house rules as to what they allow and what they class as high risk. Perhaps you could call them and be truthful before they see the report, they can then give you an idea of whether or not your history is acceptable.

I think they can only see things like CCJs and bankruptcies, I can't imagine the store cards would stop you getting the job.

I don't know for definite though so hopefully someone who knows will come along.

AFAIK the thinking is that people who are having financial difficulties are more likely to be tempted to defraud their employer.
