I am immensly frustrted because I can't seem to get to grips with my web software from my web hosting package (1and1)

ARRRGGGGG I Just CANT and ive been doing well with sorting stuff out for my business til now.

Did other self employed persons on here go through this with something - I mean ive hit a brick wall.

Accounts, networking, business plan, selling, working all night - done but this blardy thing

...and DH thinks its silly not offered to help no nose in his CD collection - maybe I should just put that on ebay

Rant over

Get a man in!

Seriously. This is a waste of your valuable time.

There are MNetters who specialise in this - we're having our website redesigned by one of them.

Hi thank you for your support thandeka it is generous of you to post and I do find myself talking to myself sometimes on here!

Nappy - I will try again later in week I am not looking forward to ringing customer service and trying to get my domain name transferred - I know it will be worth it and I do have other things that I can do.

Because - I did but he was expensive so I decided to go alone. As much as I hate to admit it I should have stuck with him.

This has left me demented but I looked for other things to do so I at least achieved something positive, not sure talioring a sales letter for a different sector compares to first few web pages but...

I am calm I am calm... DH out at tesco express to get goodies (sure half our income ends up in their till)

Have you tried Mr.Site. It is so easy even I managed to build my own site and I am a complete IT dunce!!!

MrVibrating · 04/05/2009 23:47

I think you are in danger of digging yourself deeper into an expensive and unproductive hole.

If someone wants you to transfer your domain registration to them, run away now. There is absolutely no technical need or advantage in doing this so their only motivation can be to make it hard for you to leave them.

The 1and1 website builder is not perfect, but it is as good as anything else that doesn't cost much and/or require years of experience. Stick with that and use the FAQ and the customer forum to help you with any specific problems. If you really can't get anywhere (do you usually get on well with computer software/internet applications?) and end up getting someone to help you it will be a lot easier for them to sort it out if you stick with a mainstream host like 1and1 rather than www.domainthieves.com or whatever.

Note this is not a recommendation for 1and1 - I always recommend these people, but you may as well use what you have got before throwing it away for something else.
