Hiya

I am new to this site and don't know if I can put this here, but wondered if you could let me know what you all think of my new website?

www.allshewants.org.uk

Thank You

You'd certainly need to get a lot more stock on there because just having a handful of items would put me, as a buyer, off - it looks too amateur a set up.

The site looks a bit flat and drab - if you're selling designer clobber then you've got to get that message across in the design and style - a couple of vague fashion drawings doesn't really work.

If you just want to make a few quid then you'll probably do better on Ebay - if you want to turn it into a viable business i think you'll need to make it more exciting.

The stock you're selling Juicy and Ugg - is going to appeal to the Wag-type brigade - so why not play to that in the design of the page?

Hope that helps.

WOW! Thanks for your honesty!
I want to add more items to the site, but am restricted as the site is through a hosting company.

Of course I would love the site to look more professional, but am limited as to what I can do.

I am trying to get some ideas and maybe change from the hosting co. However a bit hard at the moment as I have just started and just wanted to test the water.

Some of the pictures don't work too.

I agree with Nancy about Stock and design. Personally I hate pink but that's also because I probably am not your client base as I don't think I even know what Juicy is (clothing brand?) and would never ever wear Uggs!

So actually I am a rubbish person to comment! but very very best of luck with the business and fingers crossed for success. I love the name though! and you are quite high on google (behind youtube ace of base

No worries- really mean it too, sorry was writing with a hangover and all the other gumpf is useless feedback since i am not someone you would want to target anyhow! Unfortunately I don't know anybody who would be in your probable market else I would email them the link for better feedback for you.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Hi, just a few thoughts bearing in mind what you've said about only being able to have a limited amount of items on the site, and what you can do re: website design itself.

Firstly - the basic look is fine - not too fussy and the site iteslf is easy to navigate which is always a plus

The picture - looks ok, but I'm intriegued as to what the word is that's 'cut-off' - the white letters? Also the drawings are a little 70s - is there an alternative picture banner you could use? If you can't change it, it's not a big problem.

Fonts/typeface. These are a bit basic - you could do with something a bit more modern. Also I think a bit more text would be useful (see my next point). I'd have "all she wants is..." in one font, big size, as you have. Next para in a different font, a bit smaller. Then a couple more paragraphs in same font as "All she wants is..." smaller size.

Finally, as you're limited in how many items you can have, why not make a feature of it? People are always keen on things that have limited availability or special offers, so maybe make more of that - give it a more exclusive feel?

Hope this helps, and good luck

Agree with the points above. Think about likely search terms too. Little things like adding the words 'boutique', 'limited', or 'bespoke' will increase the odds of getting hits from people more likely to be into your lines.

enliven · 03/05/2009 10:58

Thank you all, I will definately look into those and I am looking into changing the site a bit, as its new, appreciate the feedback so I know what to change. I am going to add those words to the search terms now!!

Hi enliven - I have just realised I am using the same web host as you as I recognised the design. I think you've done gret to get this far as I dont think the instruction booklet (I downloaded) is very good and it has taken me ages to get a product on there and I dont even know how I did it.

Have you rung customer service - are they any good? Oh i wish i'd just paid someone!

ANOtherFriend · 03/05/2009 19:11

Um - why do you have a dot org? I thought this was a domain type for charities/non-profits?

enliven · 05/05/2009 13:35

I have a dot org as it was cheaper to have something dot uk, so I chose that when given the option of which one to have.

Bigcometobedeyes - I have rung them a few times, especially on the first day!! They are quite helpful. If you need any help - i will try and help - PM me or something. I too am learning slowly, I have just changed the top design, so just take your time and just experiment, thats all I have done!!

Good luck!
