Just learned of a promoted post, applications need to be in on Friday so I need to make my mind up today!
I am currently part-time and this is a full time promoted post for a year. I probably don't have enough experience but they have advertised it as suitable for someone wanting to gain more experience. Salary is massive which would be very helpful as DH is self employed and suffering with the crunch. I think I could do the job...! I have been in my post for 5 years and really ought to push myself a bit more.
Feel nervous about it and if I got an interview I would need valium. (sp) anyone got words of wisdom?

do it, do it, do it, do it. What's the worst that could happen ?
If/when you get an interview you could post back on here and I bet there would be loads of people ready to give you handy tips.
good luck

DO IT. If nothing else it will be good experience with filling out the application / interviews at this level, and if you don't get it, you can ask for feedback, which will be very valuable.

Thanks! I am nearly convinced...just don't want to apply and make an idiot of myself!

You have nothing to lose and lots to gain. Go for it.

I spoke to my boss about it last night and she was encouraging about it. Okay, need to start getting my application sorted.
