Voluntary Redundancy

If you take voluntary redundancy, do you need to tell any potential employer that it was voluntary rather than non? Will they be able to find out and will it look really weird?

I would imagine at interview you will be asked why you left your last job. I don't know why they would need to know or it would be relevant whether it was voluntary or not.

I would think though that someone taking voluntary redundancy would look slightly stronger than if they had no choice in it. I wouldn't have thought it would look weird though especially in the current climate.
