Paternity leave for self employed

Does anyone know if self emp dh can claim paternity leave ? or rather the allowance of £ 100 pw ( is it for 2 weeks?), and who we would make the claim thro'.
I feel its the sort of thing that if you don't claim at the right time you lose. Thanks

Sorry it is only available to employed earners, not the self-employed. The DTI website gives more info, and lists some other benefits which might be claimed instead (eg Income support).
