Cake making and food hygene certificate

If I wanted to make food to sell informally at car boot sales etc would I need to have a food hygene certificate? Would I definately need one if I started a business online? If so how would I get one?

watches thread with interest.

As a home cake decorator I have been guided that I should get the environmental health people round to inspect my kitchen and take at least food hygiene certificate level 2 (which you can do online for about £20)

Also to take out public liability insurance which is about £50-60 per year.

I assume that these guidelines also apply to selling at car boot sales.

Phone/email your local college. They may have a one day course.
