I have worried & moaned on many a thread since last August when DH lost his job in a very unpleasant manner.

He has gritted his teeth at the Job Centre, applied for other benefits to no avail and applied to adverts, applied to companies not advertising, networked non-stop and now has an offer of a 12 month contract!

So, not employed directly but a long term contract that should be renewed if all goes well, and if not gives something new to his CV.

Money has been better, but lately it couldn't have been worse so we know we can survive.

Yippeeee

Don't give up anyone else who out there.

great news it just shows that if you get of your arse you can get a job sometimes

Thank you

It was depressing that it took so long, but we know of others who have been out of work for 2 years+.

DD is off to Uni this October so money will be handy!

Well done to your DH

Hope he is celebrating!

My Dh got made redundant, loafed about at home for a bit, got bored, called a mate to ask which agencies they used to recruit and was offered a 6 week contract by said mate immediately! That was 8 years ago, he is still there now

We are using fixed terms alot atm as the market is so uncertain. We are really hoping to keep everyone on perm but you never know if or when we could lose a big customer

Thank you

Yes, they have explained contracts are the way for now, but may change to permanent if seen to be working out for all parties.
