Does anyone know what sort of jobs/skills are in demand?

That's it really. I wondered if there was a website somewhere that gives info about the types of jobs (if any! ) that are crying out for more people to do them. I've tried Googling, but not really got anywhere.

Thanks!

Lots of sales jobs at the moment in various industries as normal policy is to try and sell your way out of a recession if you see what i mean.

Anything operational and non-essential is dodgy at the moment. For example, we have cut IT dept, lots of admin staff, lots of middle management.

Basic rule of thumb is to look at anything where you will be productive rather than an overhead.

Hairdressers are doing ok as well funnily enough. And UK tourism.

Thanks for that, IDTES. Not sure selling is my bag, but I agree that productivity is the key.

Maybe I need to be a hairdresser in a UK holiday resort!
