Hi i have an interview tomorrow afternoon in a local nursery.I sent emails out to a load of nurseries in my area basically asking for a job as i have found a company that will provide the nvq qualifications i need but they require employment. An hour after sending the emails i recieved a phone call from one of the nurseries asking me to come in for an interview.

Im so nervous as i have been trying to get work in a nursery for well over a year.I dont want to mess this opportunity up.So i just wondered if anyone can give me any idea as to what may happen at the interview.Do i need to look anything up in preperation etc.

as you are new and not qualified, I am sure they will not be asking you difficult questions

they will want to know that you like children, that you can think on your feet. That you can follow policy and proceedure, that you can communicate with parents/children/staff.
Most of all they will want to know that you are committed and hard working, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get mucky.

You might want to mention The EYFS, the early years foundation stage, the new curriculum for 0-5 year olds.

Good luck!!
