I'm going back to work in two weeks having been off since last May (dd born in June). I'm going back 4 days a week 8.30 -5 and we're lucky enough to have a nanny. DD will be 9 months old and

What kind of things can I expect? DH reckons I'm going to feel completely done in like when I started work. Am also expecting dd to be unsettled (although hoping to minimise this as nanny starting tomororw so got a couple of weeks settling in).

honest experiences welcome as I just want to be prepared (feel a bit like waiting for dd to be born - somehow if you know what to expect it seems easier to cope ).

you'll be awful to live with the day before you go back. a week after you;'ll be bolting out of the door!

thanks..am less worried than I was about dd as can see she'd benefit from some different company (she is dead nosey providing she is in a safe environment like home).

The first day back you will think "Oh My God, I have missed so much, how will I ever catch up". By the end of the first week, you will feel that you have never been away and you will be wondering whether anyone actually did any work while you were off.

LOL notsoclever that is so true! My replacement certainly did flap all while I was gone!
