I've been made redundant while on mat leave but there is another job I could do

I'll try not to complicate this too much! I did two jobs at same firm before I got preg. Job A and Job B. Job A was secretarial and Job B was administrative stuff. There was no set hours for Job A and Job B, just an ongoing do-a-bit-of-each-as-necessary type of thing.

I had a letter saying they were considering me for redundancy for Job B as there wasn't enough work to keep the position open (no mention of Job A). I did my sums and worked out that I wouldn't be that much worse off to stay at home so took the redundancy. There were also redundancies amongst the secretarial staff (JobA).

Did my firm do the wrong thing? Should I have been offered all my (18) hours in job A? Do I have any comeback? I'm not sure I want to return to work, but I am annoyed at possibly being treated unfairly

When was this? If it was more than 3 months ago it's too late to do anything about it anyway, even if you wanted to.

Was it just you doing Job B? It's difficult to say from what information you are able to give whether they should have done anything differently.

If you are at risk of redundancy when on maternity leave and there is a suitable available job, you must be offered it. Was there a suitable available job? If they were also reducing the number of people doing Job A it doesn't sound as though there would have been extra hours of Job A available anyway?
