Voluntary Redundancy or not???

I'm 21wks pregnant and in talks with my employer about voluntary redundancy. What sort of offer can I expect to receive? And would I still be entitled to Maternity Allowance if I was to leave voluntarily? I've worked for the same employer for over 8 years. Had 9 months mat leave in 2007/08 and returned part time last July. Please help! Thank you.

Hi
I tried posting on here but got a better response on the Employment Issues thread.

In terms of what offer you can expect to receive, no idea really. It would usually be a bit more than the statutory basic, which is a week's pay (capped at £350) for each year of service plus obviously your notice.

If you are still employed at 25 weeks pregnant you still get SMP even if you then leave employment, so I'd make sure part of the redundancy package is that your termination date is after that time to make sure you get it. See here about SMP, as long as you are still employed at 15th week before due date, you get it even if you then leave employment.

Can I ask a bit more about the circumstances? Why are they offering you VR and what do they say will happen if you don't accept it? What's in it for you?

Also, is it a large organization or a small one? Obviously statutory entitlement wouldn't be affected, but may have some impact on how much money may be available?
