Well I kind of know I think but..
Have to give presentation. Its a 12 month post and I have to priotise tasks for first 3 then 12 month overview. Thats ok - I have loads of ideas. But they have sent me 2 lists that I think I have to include in interview - workstream 1 communication - workstream 2 training. These then have loads of sub sections, some with cross over. I know a bit about critical path stuff, am guessing its like that but cant get my head round how much of each of the 'tasks' to include, want to show knowledge but not too much detail as is only 10 min presentation. Its a womens mental health strategy lead post btw. Any help or is that all as muddled as me??

Well according to Wiki:

"A workstream is a set of associated activities, focused around a particular scope that follow a path from initiation to completion."

So there you have it.

Sounds as though you've got it anyway, but how much of each to include, don't know about that, if it's 10 mins you don't have much time at all, so just make sure you cover all areas I'd say.

at the end they will probably ask how you think it went. so then you can waffle a bit about what you would have done had you had more than 10 minutes..iyswim.

what industry is the interview for. in public sector 'workstream' is part of PRINCE 2 the public sector way of making project management extremely complex and using stupid words that confuse people (my favourite is configuration librarian - who is someone in charge of making sure documents etc are kept correctly - that would be someone who does the filing then ).

i am responsible for quite a few communications workstreams for larger projects. I a marketing and communciations manager, there are also workstream for things like ICT, training, HR, etc.

Is it to do with "putting people first" ? I'm a third sector rep on this programme and can't understand a word anyone who works in local government is saying.
