What's its subject?
I'd be keen to discuss as worked in publishing/ editorial (now a SAHM) and proof-read books all the time. I haven't done any freelance work so wouldn't know about typical costs but depending on the subject would be interested in doing this. I studied French and Spanish at Cambridge and hopefully could manage unless subject v technical...

educational psychology and the relationship between medical and educational research. It would not be overly technical.

I might be. Though DD is likely to be at home still by then so I guess it would depend how quickly you needed it by and someone not juggling childcare might be more efficient if a short time from finishing it to handing it in?

Hi BBBee (excuse me elbowing in) feel free to drop me a mail at [email protected] if you don?t find anyone ? I have eight years? experience and proofread DH?s thesis a while back.

Hi BBBee, just wondering whether you managed to sort a proofreader for your thesis? I'm a freelance proofreader (been doing it since 2001) and would be happy to quote for it.

Hiya. I'm a freelance proofreader, editor and writer and have been working in publishing for over 9 years. My background is science - have a degree in zoology and a masters in physiology. At the moment I mainly work on school books for kids aged 11-14, but I have proofread all of my husband's dissertations for his MBA. I've also authored a few books. I'd be happy to proofread your thesis when the times comes if you're interested? My email is [email protected]

HatnMat (sorry to hijack) - would you mind if I got in touch with you to get some tips on finding work? I'm a fairly newly qualified proofreader, but have a background in biology. So far I've found a bit of work proofreading theses/assignments for foreign students, but would ideally like to work for a publisher.

Any chance you might be able to help?

Of course, any tips from any of you lovely proofreading ladies would be great - I only singled out HatnMat as she also has a background in biology.
