then, i wore a suit. always went by the maxim, and still do in social situations, that it is better to be overdressed, than underdressed.
not sure what sort of clothes people wear there, it is in an office
any advice appreciated.

suit, black or grey - go for neat not flashy imo

I would also go for dark suit, in own preference it would be trousers but go for whatever you feel comfortable in. Nice top, doesn't need to be formal blouse or shirt or whatever, just make sure erm (how do i put this politely?) it covers everything

chainstitch · 10/03/2009 00:27

lol, yes, i wont be flashing any cleavage... trouser suit is what i was thinking tooo.
what about shoes? i need to take the train in, and the most comfy pair of heels i have, )and ebing a short arse, i have to wear heels) are unfortunately red.. could i wear those? or do i need to invest in a pari of black shoes too?

tbh I would go for something dark. do you have any boots or anything?

LadyPenelope · 10/03/2009 01:06

Shoes should match your trousers - so dark colour best. If they aren't so comfy, take the train in comfy ones and change into the better ones when you get there. Carry a smart brief case/handbag though (not a shopping bag with spare shoes!)

flowerybeanbag · 10/03/2009 09:54

Agree dark shoes. They should notice and remember you, not your shoes. Best of luck.

thank you all. bought a pair of black shoes, and a black suit today. will nick dsisters bag.
now just need to remember what this job is all about.
