Does anyone really like their job? Or is it just me ....

In a major quandry and feel very down at the moment about work.
Was wondering how many people really do like their jobs and if so, why? What makes it enjoyable?

I love my job. My colleagues are lovely, I enjoy the work and I feel very relaxed about the whole thing.

The job I had before, I hated. Truly loathed. My boss was evil, pure hell. And although I enjoyed the work, I used to dread going into the office from Friday evening to Monday morning

I love my job, most days I do anyway. It helps that I only work 2-3 days a week in a school as a classroom asst and LSA. Everyday is different, we go on lots of trips. Before the summer holidays, we are taking our class to LegoLand. I just hope some of the kids will go on the rides with me

I would so love a job that I wanted to go to instead of just had to go to!
And a job where I felt valued and needed. Instead I currently feel instantly replacable and the years I have worked there count for nothing.
I teach by the way and the pupils are fine, it's senior management that gets me down. Just not sure whether to lump it or actively seek out something else and take a massive pay cut in doing so.
Is piece of mind more important? God I don't know!

How about working for an agency and carrying on teaching? They pay much more money to supply teachers and you can choose to work a few days a week or everyday. It would be a shame to give up on your job due to senior management.

I like being the boss! , working with great people, interesting projects and the pay cheque - but the biggest plus is it's only 3 days and the hours suit for school drop off, so the kids and family life haven't been compromised.

I love my job. been there 7 years and no intention to leave. Company been through a hard time so not had a pay rise in years, until just recently but would rather be happy in my job then paid loads tbh. (although would be lovely to be paid well also!) It's small, very relaxed, informal, I'm part of it, it's part of me. It's local, interesting, do something different every day, well sort of, i make my own workload, noone to answer to. I start at 10 so I can take DD to school and never have to work late. I'm good at what I do which adds to my liking it.

It's a PR agency btw. I set up publicity for films - cinema and DVDs and a few other bits. I am a manager, have my own accounts and get on well with my clients and have good press contacts. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I like my job. I'm an administrator in the NHS and always have been, and it may sound a bit of a cliche but I enjoy the fact that I'm helping people. I've also worked with some lovely, lovely people and had some fab Consultants for bosses. It's very hard work, the money's not that good, but no two days are the same and it's interesting work. I did work in a drug company for a brief spell and it was just awful. I saw no point to any of the work and it was all about making money. If I was asked to stay late to finish something I just couldn't see the need - whereas in the NHS I've done hours of overtime and you do it because it means someone gets their appointment quicker, or an urgent letter to a GP needs doing. I was like a fish out of water and very quickly went back to the NHS.

I like my job too. I'm a uni lecturer in an English department abroad. Teaching only, mostly responsible for language and cultural stuff, but have a lot of freedom to design my courses and can always get some literature (my degree and real passion) into it, do interesting projects with the students, etc. It has its frustrating sides (which I often quite enjoy tackling, in fact), but when rewarding it's very rewarding, and I have lovely colleagues and mostly lovely students.

I like my job very much. The people I work with are generaly wonderful. The kids are always , at the very least, interesting. And some of them make me feel that it is almost an honour to work with them. meeting their parents makes me feel that they have put me in a position of great trust.

that said, I have just marked two sets of tests and one of them was awful....so it isn't all roses

Rowlers, I hate my job! Been there too long, bored to death with it, can't stand my boss. Couple of nice people make it bearable but that's it. Have applied for lots of other jobs, got none of them,but anyway even if I got another similar job I could end up working with people I don't like, which would be even worse! Also fairly well paid for what I do, and have hours to suit family. I'm always weighing up the pros and cons and telling myself it's not so bad - then I arrive at work and want to run away. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there?

I love my job. It's different every day (to a certain extent), i work as hard or as little as I want. I don't have anyone stnading over me just clients to keep happy which I seem to do. I take pride in what I do. It's fun. I'm good at it so I enjoy it, I enjoy it so I'm good at it.

I quite like mine - I work at home, it's creative, I don't have to go into an office environment or engage in office politics. It is pressured at time when I'm up against deadlines but on the whole, I feel appreciated

I reckon life is too short to have a job you don't like - is there anything else you think you could do?
