Hoping to set up a bookkeeping business

I hope in the not to distant future to set up as a self employed bookkeeper. I am currently studying for AAT exams and hope to complete them all in June. I have been working part time doing bookkeeping on Sage for a friends business which has involved purchase & sales ledger, credit control, bank recs , some journals.

I am a bit stuck as to how I should get business. I don't feel very confident as yet as I feel there is so much I don't yet know - things that I have studied but never put into practice but am struggling to know how I could get the necessary experience to progress this further.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Any friends or friends of friends that need someone to nhelp, at a low cost to gain conmfidence?

Maybe approach you local uni and ask if any graduates need help?

Don't tkae on too much, have 3 year plan, the first year is liek still being at college..building roots, knowledge networking

see where you want to be and brainstorm ideas with a friend of how to get there.

See if you can find a local book keeper that wants a lowcost apprentice for a while.

good luck - see where you want to go and belive you can get there and eventually you will!!
