So, I like to think I can sell the proverbial to the Eskimos, or in my case, sand to the Arabs..;)
But I am RUBBISH at selling myself.
Business is doing nicely, (not in the UK)and I really have no complaints, but am keen to widen my range, and maybe acquire a few more long term clients, retainers or bigger projects.

So it's time to do another mass 'pitch'. I really want to approach potential clients in an attention grabbing way. Although the fact that I am English and my credentials have done well for me in the past, I want to go a step beyond and really stand out.
I have a mental and creative block. I want to maintain my professional air whilst creating an interest.

Has anybody any tried and tested creative ideas that they have used to win more business, set meetings with potential clients etc. that they'd like to share in the spirit of MN??

All suggestions appreciated!
TIA

The best way I found of getting to see new prospects was when I was doing research for my MBA.

People seemed genuinely flattered that I was interested in their views, and becuase I was researching, not selling they seemed pleased to help. I sent everyone a copy of my publication and people appeared to be interested in the results.

Some of the people I interviewed have remained in contact and I have subsequently completed work for them. Was a long lead time though, and maybe only worked because I wasn't trying to sell them anything.
