P45 question

I an due to start a new job shortly and they have asked for my P45. I only have my last P45 from a couple of years ago. I have worked since then but only the odd day here and there for which I was on the PAYE thingy (sorry not very technical) but don't actually have a P45 as it was temporary and very sporadic work iykwim.

Shall I give new employers my old P45? I still want to keep on the other job as its only a few extra hours here and there so obv will have no P45 from them.

Thanks for help with this extremely dull enquiry!

See the second FAQ on here P46

If you really don't have a P45 then you just fill in the P46 form when you start your new job. Its all quite straightforward.

However, if you've been on a PAYE system in the current tax year, then you should be able to get one from your sporadic employer. If they don't give you one then just ask your new employer for the P46 and let the tax office sort it all out! (worst case scenario is that some of your income tax won't be taken off your first month's pay correctly while they sort it)

And congrats on the new job!!
