Ok, so how do I get work?

Am in the process of setting up a freelance business providing copywriting and editorial services to the IT sector.

Apart from the obvious emailing and phoning people - how do I actually get work?

Do I need to send people a cv or will samples of my works suffice?

Any help much appreciated!

Network like mad! Do you have any previous contacts who could give you work? Ask everyone you know to spread the word. Look on sites like peopleperhour.
Er cant think of anything else at the moment!

What are the professional associations - could you by a mailing list, this would be expensive.

Are there any events conected to you setors that you chould showcase at?

There are business networking sites, some of them are free some of the women only ones require subscription.

Look up trade fairs connected to IT and then go there to network?

What are your trade publications - could you get them to do a piece on you for free? Could you advertise on forums - like MN has its classified section.
