how to work out hourly rate from salary, and how much do teaching asst earn???

ok...really silly question, but i think i've got it wrong!

if a salary is £12,229 pa, based on working 32.5 hours per week, for 39 weeks per year, how much is that an hour?

is it £9.70?

is that about right for a teaching asst in a comp?

No idea about average rates, but the calculation is correct if that is the pro-rata salary for 32.5hrs for 39 weeks per year and not the full time salary.
