I am waiting for my CRBs so I can start my new job as a portage worker. I am doing the training course next week and it would be handy to have a heads up before I start. Its going to be pretty intense as there is a lot of travelling and my home situation is a bit complex. I would like to prepare a bit.

I am really excited about this job. Its my first since my DD became ill. I am really commited to the concept and want so much to do well.

I am also very nervous. I havent worked for over 4 years now. I had not previously had a break of more than about 10mth since leaving school (I am now in my 40s)

Any tips or advice would be fantastic. Thanks.

Sorry no advice, just encouragement. Never heard of portage till DS needed it. It is very valuable work. I love you all! Good luck.

Thank you!

I have yet to hear a bad word about portage. Its lovely to be able to work for a service that people love so much. I think it will help that I have had an awful lot of professionals involved in DS2 and DD's lives. I know what its like to have people in and out of your home all the time.

Thanks again
