where do you find freelance/self emp work??

hi, been trying to find work to do thats freelance or self employed, i drive but being on the dole i dont have much money to put into anything, ive tried various work sites, but cant find anything,so i dont know if theres sites that cater for this.
also for the self employment side i thought of window cleaning etc but my area is flooded with people doing things like this
has any1 got any ideas?

What about childminding. Contact surestart or local council who normally offer grants to start with, also you can usually have a local toy library pass so use that until you can afford toys etc. I get 3.50ph per child (can have up to 6 including my own 2, so 4 minded) so thats 14 quid per hour. Depends how many dcs you have and when. When I only had my dd1 I had 2 other toddlers 1 part time and 1 full time and a 4yo school going one and made about 1k per month, minus expenses = approx 700pcm. Any use?

Ironing services go down well in affluent parts of town, as do cleaners, car valeting. Look on freecycle for things to start up.

dog walking? I started doing this for a lowly £10 an hour a couple of years ago and it's grown into a nice business, advisory service and various rehab/socialisation groups and so on

plenty of competitors is a Good sign by the way, it means there is a market for the service

thankyou for your replys,im looking to do things on a full time business,whilst also taking care of my family, hubbys partialy disabled and we do home education as well which he would then take over.
