Are any of you lovely people indexers. I ahve been thinking about this for a while and would like to know how you all find it. We runa good business (B&B) which keeps us busy most of the year and weekends all year, however I find that my brain is stagnating and want to do something during the winter, quiet times.

I joined the Society of Indexers and received the information about doing the indexing course. I also went on a one day workshop 'Introduction to Indexing'. I'd love to do it but just haven't got the time to do the courses as I'm doing a degree at the moment. However, it's definitely something I'd do as there is always a demand for indexers and you can do it anywhere in the world. It looks like about a £500-£700 outlay on courses and software, but you can then charge about £20/hr for your services once you get up and running. Have you looked at their courses?
