Hi,

Can anyone tell me where to start if I want to work as a purchase/sales ledger clerk. I don't have an experience in this field but I realy would like to do this job. All the adverts are saying "experienced" - where to start to get this experience?

Thanks,
Ana

Ana, I would suggest starting some kind of accounting qualification, e.g. AAT if you don't have a financial background. Contact a financial agency like Page or Hays, both of which deal with junior finance staff, to discuss your options. If they don't have anything available, they might still be able to give you tips on what the best course of action would be.

Hays or Page.

Smaller agencies and more general ones also deal with these kind of jobs, but I think that a more specialized one would normally have better clients on their books and would give you better career advice.

Best of luck in your new career.

Why not try and get experience through volunteering for a local charity?
