job hunting whilst pregnant

Hi. I was made redundant in December (one of several part time mums to be made redundant, and yes, I have got a solicitor).

I have been keenly looking for new work but there is so little out there at the moment in my profession it is all pretty desperate.

Now to make matters more complicated I just found out I am pregnant again! How can I go job hunting when I know I am pregnant, particularly given my recent experience with my last job?

Bumping for you. Best of luck. And congratulations on your pregnancy.

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

But what do you think? What if I get offered a job? I'll have to tell them after a month that I'm pregnant, it'll be obvious that I knew that I was when I applied.

It won't do much for the employee - working mum relationship.

One of the girls I work with was recently recruited whilst pregnant ... she didn't wait until 3 months to tell us but rather informed her interviewers that she was pg. As it happens, her role is difficult to recruit for, so the powers that be could see beyond the maternity leave and recruited her anyway. So far as the employer/working mum relationship goes, might be better to be upfront at an interview? Admittedly, there is a big risk that they will (unlawfully) discriminate against you and not employ due to you being pg... but this would be unlawful I think and perhaps they will surprise you. Or be scared that you'll bring a discrimination claim against them so will employ you because you are pg .
