I'm a s/e gardener and have lost 2 customers due to the recession. For 6 months I've had no new customers contact me to replace the lost ones and I've never known work to be so slow.I've been quite worried about how we will manage and have been scraping around to find money for shopping/petrol.

However, over the past 3 days I've had 3 people contact me,2 definate jobs and one who is ringing me back.I am just SO relieved that things won't be so tight financially now and my only worry is fitting all the work in.

So,s/e people, there is still work out there and people with money to spend on goods/services.Lets hope thing improve for all of us.

We run a B&B and have been far busier this January, we let 4 rooms last year and up to 16 so far and bookings are up for the rest of the year so far.

I'm hoping this'll be my year too. I'm starting to advertise my se business too, and i'm hoping it'll take off. I have 2 clients already(i'm a bookkeeper/accountant)

5gomad,I'm glad things are on the up for you too.Would you CAT me with your b&b details please?I've been planning to take the dd's to Dorset for ages, but not done anything abut it.Maybe if my finances improve, this could be the year!

Good luck Eddas,I'm sure you'll do well-everyone I know hates doing paperwork,so theree are plenty of customers out there.Going s/e is great and you won't regret it.
