Can you claim for clothing? I don't mean unifomr, but I wear smart clothes when I see clients rather than jeans and T shirts, and I do have my "work wardrobe". Is this an acceptable expense?

Also what are the rules about claiming for a % of heating and wear and tear of premises at home- re. capital gains tax and house deeds- ours says no business to be done from home, but I do use the phone nad have occasional visitors.

No, the only people who can claim for clothing are actors or you can claim for certain items that are necessary for health and safety like steel toe capped boots.

Where I work the tax man even stipulates how many items of uniform overalls with a logo on each employee is allwed per year tax free.
