Just wondered if any NHS workers know - if I work 16 hours per week normally and do overtime of 5 hours each Sunday next month will I get 5 hours normal pay or 5 hours at double pay (Sunday rate)?

Thanks

I work in tthe Police part time. I wor 24 hrs a week but would only get enhaced rate o/t if i did more thn 40 hrs aweek

I work in the NHS and that is what I get. I work 18.75 hours a week, any "overtime" I do I get paid my basic rate unless I do more than 37.5 hours in a week. I would still get my Sunday enhancement (special duty rate) though - basic pay plus 60% I think it is currently.

The only exception for me is that if I do compulsory overtime (if I am called out at night) then I do get proper overtime.

I'm part-time NHS too. I get flat rate until I have worked up to full time hours. It might be different for different disciplines though. I'm admin & clerical.

I'm a nurse (band 6) if that is any use. I think it's fairly standard though Frosty, has been wherever I have worked in the NHS.

You will not get overtime rate, but I imagine you should receive Sunday enhanced rate (normal time plus 60%)

M1SSUNDERSTOOD · 23/12/2008 18:36

I discovered this to my cost. You only get enhanced rates once you have exhausted 37.5 hours or it's a Saturday after 12 or a Sunday anytime.

retiredgoth2 · 23/12/2008 18:42

...if the majority of a Saturday shift is after 12pm, then you do get the enhanced Saturday rate (plus 30 %) for the whole caboodle...

I work 6.45 am to 7.15 pm Saturday and Sunday (on alternate weekends, term time only). I get paid the enhanced rate for the whole lot....

Which is why I signed the contract so bloody quickly.

I work part time in the NHS and only get the basic rate for overtime up to 37.5 hours.

abcmum · 23/12/2008 19:09

Yup, I worked in the Agenda for Change project team for a very short while - temp - normal time to 37.5 hours then time and half thereafter even on Sundays.

cheshirekitty · 23/12/2008 22:37

You would get Sunday enhanced hours even though you are part time.
