the big online agencies like reed, monster, jobsite. plus you have specialist ones like michael page for retail, hayes for banking etc etc.

google his occupation, location and 'job' and see what comes up.

What type of field is he in?

Local and County council websites have a variety, some of which may be relevant.

Job centre plus website, very good for local jobs.

I'm in exactly the same situation and have started looking again. I found that by simply searching job vacancies/employment opportunities/ recruitment etc I found loads of sites, some good some bad. I've kpet the good ones and check at least once a week. Only been looking for 2 weeks and have an interview already.

Sector1.net is good for government jobs, nhs website is good as well for a gap filler job. It depends what you want to do but think of the big employers in your area and start there.

Apply for everything your interested in even if you don't meet all the criteria, let them decide if your right for the job. It may take time but keep going.

Good luck frenchmumma!! You'll find something!

You could also check out who the local employers are and write speculatively. Otherwise do a web search - local councils often have a job section for local businesses.

Good luck, and fingers crossed you won't need the advice!

Total Jobs is a great website that has loads of different jobs by sector and receives lots of visits etc - creating lots of employers advertising on there!
