breastfeeding, BLW and going back to work

Hello there,

My DD will start seeing a childminder 2 days a week from Feb 1 when he'll be 8 months old.

Until then he will have been exclusively breastfed and baby-led weaned since 6 months.

I have never used a bottle with him but he can use a cup.

So, here is my worry - how will we deal with the breastfeeding when he's with the CM - should I express so that she can feed him in a cup or could he be breastfed am and pm and rely on solids and water during the day?

Anyone have a similar experience - is a BLW fed child getting enough nutrition after doing it for over two months i.e. to survive for 7 hours without breastmilk?

Love any advice... thanks....

I can't honestly remember what age DS was when we cut back his feeds but I'm fairly sure that at 8monhs he was having milk after his solids, so I would express and leave with the childminder - it may also help settle your DD as it will be something familiar in a strange place.

Should be fine with water and solids. An 8 month old will certainly survive for 7 hours without breastmilk, and you can, of course, continue bf mornings and evenings.
