Dh says he doesn't get it.

He's been off for 2 days now and is taking it as holiday or he will have to take it unpaid...

Only got 3 days holiday left till April.

Is he entitled to anything?

my understanding is that everyone is entitled to SSP anything else is an enhancement.

Candlewax · 10/12/2008 00:03

It is not compulsory that any company has a sick pay scheme I'm afraid. And I believe that the Statutory Sick Pay only kicks in after 3 days.

If his contract or handbook doesn't say he is entitled to any enhanced sick pay scheme he will only be entitled to SSP, which as candlewax says, only kicks in after 3 days.

Incidentally the type of contract, hour and length of service are not relevant to SSP. You are entitled to it from day 1 of your employment. Or rather, day 4!
