NUT or NASWUT?

As a PGCE student I feel I need to join one or the other. (By the way, as I haven't joined one yet, am I liable if anything happened on one of my teaching placements?)
Do you have any point of view as to which union would be best to join?

I was recommended to join a union whilst training, just in case. They tend to be free or have very reduced rates for student teachers, and you used to be able to join them all if you wanted too, at the same time!

I am a member of NASUWT and have to say that when I have contacted them for information (over mat leave, sorting out flexible hours, sorting out them saying I had to work on my days off, and also resignation stuff) they have been very helpful, and have responded quickly.

You can join both and more for free during your training year and then choose which you like the most to stay with once you're teaching
