Any more disillusioned architects out there?

I have been working part-time as an architect for the last four years for a great little firm which has allowed me to work part form home, part form the office. However, I am thinking of giving it all up again (I left architecture in my twenties to do something else) and doing something different - I find the potential for making mistakes, the worry and the low pay, coupled with the looming recession loses me too much sleep. Anyone in a similar situation or have any advice? Thanks!

What are your other options?
DH just made redundant, it's tough at the minute.

Hi
Would quite like to stay in something to do with building (say work for a housing association) but as a client not a consultant. DH still in work at present but not guaranteed becuase of the downturn - luckily he is not in the same line of business!

dh's practice about to lay 25% of their staff off so prob a good time to look for something else. no ideas, sorry

or is that practise?!

It's "practice"!!

Yes probably good to do something better paid and less prone to boom and bust - perhaps I should just wait to be made redundant.

Thanks
