Help me 'explain' my SAHM status in a CV please!

Aaaaargh... I'm applying online for a pt job. It gives scope to attach a CV, but not a cover letter... so I need to 'explain' my SAHM-dom on my CV and I'm not sure how to do it!

I just want to write a couple of lines before my career details to say I've been a SAHM since 2004 and I'm now ready, willing, keen and excited to go back to work part time! Blah blah...

Can anyone give me any suggestions here? I'm very out of practise!

Many many thanks in advance...

? bumping, Bunting!

You don't need to explain or justify your decision to have a career break to bring up young children. Just state the truth.

Oh, just seen this, thanks.

Anna I didn't mean it in a 'justify-because-I'm-ashamed' kind of way I just wanted to write a few words that didn't say:

'2004-present: err... mum.'

I've sent it now anyway... I found a great thread that was along the lines of this topic, I think I used FloweryBeanBag's advice a bit... I ended up putting:

'March 2004 ? present: Career break to raise my two children. I am now ready to restart my career in Marketing and Sales, and am looking for an opportunity to use my well-practised interpersonal skills to help improve company sales and develop existing customer relations...'

...Blah blah blah, and talk a load of corporate bollocks again

just state that from 2004- you were a homemaker. That's all you need to say

Don't think you need to say anything other than 'career break to raise my children'. It's fairly self explanatory. I'd leave the bit about being keen to restart in marketing and sales and using your interpersonal skills to the covering letter.
