I am think of going back to work and have decided to go into childminding, as I am a qualified nanny. Has anyone gone into childminding and where did you start to find out things. Any help would be great!

go to your local council. They will be able to point you in the right direction. I too am a qualified nanny and worked as a nursery manager for a number of years and enjoy childminding alot more.

Bonkerz Do you mind me asking how many children you look after and how many days you work?

i look after 2 children(age 2 and 1) and work 50 hours a week. This is my choice as i mind for freinds children so also do not earn very much but i could mind up to 5 children (1 under 1 and 2 under 5)

Ring the Early years section at your council - they deal with childminder registration and can give you all the info you need

You'll need to do an ICP course (18-20 hrs) and to update your first aid (if it's more than 3 yrs old)
We have a little club - over in the childminding section.....come and join us (we're reasonably friendly)
