Maternity Allowance

I am just about to fill out my form and was wondering of anyone had any info on how long claims are taking to get processed. I read of few months ago that there was a bit of a back log. Also when should I claim from and how long do you get it for. I am due in Feb and plan to work right upto end minus any holidays I've accrued. Thanks x

not quite your question, but when I applied they completely lost my forms with all the paperwork. If I'd posted it they probably would have denied all knowledge, but I handed it in at the jobcentre, and that was logged, so they couldn't. So I would always advise doing this! It took ages to process, but that was partly weeks of me ringing up and them only admitting they'd lost it after about 8 weeks! The joys!!

I applied last month, my application came through within 2 weeks and i got backdated pay that week as i was late with my claim. You claim from 26 weeks pregnant and you get it for 39 weeks (i think)
