Is it normal to be this worried?

I'm thinking of going into bookkeeping, have been for some time now. I've passed my ICB level 2 with flying colours, so in theory all I need is my practising certificate and some insurance and I'm ready to go. So why do i feel so scared?? Keep thinking I'm going to muck up someones books and get sued! I suppose I'm just looking for MNers to gee me up a bit. New businesses go under all the time, are there any tips for ensuring that you survive the first couple of years? Any ideas would be welcome, thanks

hiya, no real advice to give, but i'm in the same position. I have been working in practice for 11 years and since having dc have been thinking of going into bookkeeping for myself. This summer I took the plunge and registered with HMRC and advertised. I have started off slowly, with one client, but I am really busy with other things atm, so want to start slowly. DD starts school in Jan so will be stepping things up then.

I'm sure some more helpful people will be along soon with tips. Or you could search my name n the freelance section, as I got some great advice when I was thinking things over and needed help.

Good luck
